General considerations

In the following, the system under consideration is a system of interacting charges (electrons and nuclei) as described by a non-relativistic Schrödinger equation. We are mostly interested in the case where the subsystems are molecules (or atoms). Key questions are the following: what are the forces between the molecules? What are the interactions among the molecules? What kind of effective potentials does one need to describe a system of \bgroup\color{col1}$ N$\egroup molecules ?
