  • Invited talks at minisymposia (2 in parallel): 30 minutes (incl. 5 minutes for discussion)
  • Contributed talks (3 in parallel): 20 minutes (incl. 5 minutes for discussion)
The lecture halls will be equipped with an overhead projector and a beamer. If you want to use your laptop and a beamer for your talk, then please
  • make sure that you are able to use the external graphics (vga) connector of your laptop and that you know how to switch it on/off. You can test this easily by connecting it to some ordinary monitor.
  • make sure that all parts of your presentation (including e.g. movies) can be seen on the external screen.
  • bring your power supply with you
  • have a copy of your talk available on some backup media (CD-ROM,flash-memory), in case something goes wrong with your laptop.
Important:

If you want to use a beamer for your talk you are requested to bring your laptop into the hall where your session takes place 30 minutes before the session begins. This gives you and the staff some time to set everything up properly.

Poster Presentations

Due to the large number of contributed posters, they have to be arranged in two separate poster sessions on Monday evening (I) and Tuesday evening (II), see preliminary program.
Poster boards will be about 1m wide and 1.30 m high (suitable for A0 format).

Poster session I: Please hang up your posters on Monday morning and remove them by Tuesday noon.

Poster session II: Please hang up your posters on Tuesday afternoon and remove them before the end of the conference.

Pins will be provided at the conference office. Following an old tradition, there will be a Best Poster Award.

Computer and internet facilities

PC-Pool

Physics Building, ground floor, room PN 019

Opening hours:

8:00 to 20:00 (Mon, Tue)
8:00 to 13:30 (Wed)
8:00 to 19:00 (Thu)

Computers

During the conference you may use the computers of the PC-Pool. You do not need any account data, since you will find the computers already logged in and ready to use.
You can choose among machines running FreeBSD and others running Windows 2000. Once you are finished on a computer, the staff will log out the temporary account you worked with, kill it and create a new one for the next user. Therefore you can be sure that you have not left any traces (web history, entered form data, temporary files) behind when you leave the computer.
If you encounter any problems or questions please feel free to ask the staff present at the PC-Pool.

Internet connection for your own laptop computer

Also at the PC-Pool you have the possibility to connect your own computer to the network via ethernet. To connect to the DHCP-Server a username and a password is required. Both are provided by the staff.
